I'm struggling with this question now. I have one main purpose for both accounts, but I find that my personal account has a 10:1 ratio of followers compared to the "business" twitter account. I think the logo in my avatar and the name of the company as the identity makes a difference and people won't follow because they think I'm just going to hard sell them... Now I'm thinking of just migrating over to the one with my personal photo and have the website addy link to the business. Plus, it's more work having to maintain both accounts and will be twice as long to build a following to both accounts...

I think instead of websites, the decision of using multiple twitter accounts depend on the branding of the products. Are they related? in a tree view or totally flat product line?

I have a brand that is in the hospitality industry which has sub-brands in spa and retail business all in one website. But due to the type of different targeted markets, we use 3 twitter accounts with once in a while cross selling :)
