GoOgLe would be Case Sensitive in future
Official Google documentation says Google searches are not case sensitive. However, there are many examples found which violate the same. So who is right? Has Google turned the tables? Will Google results have more and more weight for “Case Sensitive” in the future? How does it affects the Search Engine Optimization arena?
Sensitive Issue
There have been rumors about Google turning up different results for same search terms when typed in different cases - citing 1, citing 2 etc. Pictures of the Search Results can be found at – citing 3, citing 4, citing 5 and citing 6 (Example word is : George Washington courtesy SearchEngineLand). So there are some differences for sure which throws different results when typed in different type cases.
Case Sensitive Future
Google results might turn more sensitive to type cases in future. But the application of cases to searches would be limited to specific searches. Something like “Dr.” and “dr.” or something where having different results for different cases makes sense. I am not sure, I am just speculating. Also the difference would be minor one, as human logic and years of search experience has lead us to blindly accept and expect the same results when using different type cases.
Case Sensitive Optimization (CaSEO)
Search Engine Optimization might get affected a lot incase big daddy Google changes its view about cases. In such a situation, two condition can be foreseen, first – more effort for the SEO gurus / experts to try and grab top SERPS for both case words and second – more opportunities for low SERPS sites to get a high SERPS. But its highly unlikely that would happen.
More discussion and information about the topic can be found at the follow links : citing 7 and citing 8. The difference is not stark as of yet but who knows how it will turn out to be in the future.
